Delegate Best Practices
Before deciding to become a delegate, it's crucial to understand the responsibilities and expectations associated with the role. Review the following guidelines to ensure that you are fully prepared to serve as a delegate for the Scroll community:
- Understand the Responsibilities
- Delegates are expected to actively participate in the decision-making process and to act in the best interests of the network. Familiarize yourself with the Scroll community guidelines and governance documents.
- Review Key Documents
- Ensure you have read Scroll’s goals and visions around the future of the protocol such that you’re both aligned and excited by it! These documents will include the constitution, or protocol vision and governance roadmap laid out by the Foundation and community that is core to the mission of Scroll.
- Create your Delegate Statement
- Create a delegate profile to outline your qualifications, experience, and vision for the Scroll. Your profile will be displayed on gov.scroll.io/delegates and will allow community members to delegate their voting power to you.
- Create your Delegate Thread (NOT YET! Gov forum live Oct 22)
- Use the delegate statement you created as the basis of your Delegate Thread on the Scroll Forum (we will share the gov forum once it’s live). Yes, it’s ok to copy / paste it for the first post. This is the best place to add rationale on major votes and where community members or other delegates might ask you questions.
